Jessica Azevedo
Neuropsychologist ( Autism practitioner)

Meet Jessica Azevedo, who holds a First-Class BSc (Hons) degree in Psychology and Counselling from Bournemouth University. Her dissertation, awarded First-Class, explored the impact of beliefs about emotions on eating psychopathology. She has also completed specialist training in both the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) and the Autism Diagnostic Interview–Revised (ADI-R).

Jessica is passionate about promoting neurodiversity and creating supportive, inclusive environments. She has a strong interest in developmental psychology and is driven by a deep understanding of how early support and the right interventions can make a lasting difference in people’s lives.

Her professional experience includes working in residential care, where she supported individuals with a range of learning and physical disabilities. Through this role, she developed strong practical and person-centred skills, delivering tailored support that promoted independence and wellbeing. Jessica also has a growing interest in autism assessment and neurodiversity, with particular enthusiasm for early intervention in educational learning difficulties.

Originally from Portugal, Jessica brings lived experience of cross-cultural adjustment and English as a second language, which underpins her commitment to breaking down stigma and promoting inclusive, accessible mental health care.
